Wrecks in the English Channel off the Devon coast attracts many predatory species, most growing to enormous size on a rich diet of lesser fish. Dartmouth, a port famous in British maritime history, is the setting off point for a group of enthusiasts on the charter boat `Saltwind of Dart` skippered by Lloyd Saunders, a man with a big reputation for providing the best in offshore angling. He has had the experience of landing a conger of 112 and half lbs which set British and European records. Although no such fish took a bait on this trip, the wreck of a 6,000 ton cargo boat torpedoed during the second world war, and the rusting hulk of a German U-Boat provided plenty of rod bending action. Leading boat angler and angling journalist Mike Millman sets the scene and still finds time to catch numerous Pollack including the heaviest of the trip. ` Wreck Fishing` will entertain those who regularly fish deep water wrecks and instruct others with less experience in the varied techniques which put fish on the hook.
